Welcome from the Vicar
Dear Parents,
On behalf of St Matthew’s Church can I add my welcome to St Matthew’s CofE Primary School. We are delighted that you and your children are joining the St Matthew’s family in which the activities of school and church overlap so that God is seen to be acting in and through the local community.
You will already know that the firm foundations of the life of the school are fully rooted in Christian values; beginning with the school’s ‘5 Gs’ of God, Growing, Grace, Giving and Guiding. I see these elements being reinforced in many different ways around school and am confident that through their experiences of learning and playing together children see the reality of these being lived out.
From church-appointed School governors to congregation members assisting in school in different ways, from church-led Assemblies to regular prayer for and in the school, the collaboration between school and church benefits the whole community. So I hope that in the coming years we will meet often – either at school events or in church – on Sundays and at the regular end-of-term services that St Matthew’s are so pleased to host.
With best wishes,
Rev Helen Hancock
