St Matthew's

Church of England Primary School

"Our vision is to enable our whole school community to live life in all its fullness." based on John 10:10

PSHE

At St Matthew’s we aim to support children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society. We encourage all our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community through school council, faith group, fundraising events, supporting nominated charities and involvement in community activities. Our pupils are given opportunities in PSHE lessons and Collective Worships to develop confidence, self-motivation, how to stay safe, and an understanding of their rights and responsibilities within our diverse society.

We teach PSHE in a variety of ways: as a discrete subject, through PSHE lessons, via Collective Worships. As well as through other subjects such as RE, History, Geography, Literacy, Maths and Science, Forest School, outdoor educational visits, community work and activities.

Please use the school’s website to see what your child is learning about each half term on the curriculum overview.

During our Friendship week Respect, the children talked about how we are all different, and that it is important to respect, and celebrate each other’s individuality.
