Sport is an important part of the curriculum at St Matthew's C of E and all pupils are encouraged to develop their talents and participate to the full. Our aim is to raise achievement of all pupils through a rich curriculum for physical education. A varied range of physical activities are available to the children, offering all pupils a richness of opportunity and the chance to discover new skills.
St Matthew's C of E has very good on-site facilities, including a large field, a Multi Used Games Area, a large hall as well as a table tennis area, and links to Shrewsbury House School where the children are lucky enough to go swimming in years 4, 5 and 6. Our school enjoys highly experienced coaches, in sports such as Cricket, Squash, Hockey, Tennis, Football, Tag Rugby as well as Dance. We are able to offer a supportive, fair and motivational environment in which all pupils can achieve their full potential.
St Matthew's C of E are part of the Kingston’s schools, who run a highly busy and competitive programme of events. We take part in many events, which give the pupils a fantastic opportunity to represent their school and demonstrate their skills and talent. Furthermore, every summer, our whole school enjoys a great day of fun and activity for Sports Day.
