Year One - Green and Yellow

Miss Franken and Mrs Ritchies are in Yellow Class and Miss Collins and Mrs Harris are in Green Class.

In Year One, we continue with the transition from the EYFS and take the first steps into the National Curriculum. The learning in Year One builds upon that of Reception, so we continue to encourage independence and perseverance in all that the children do. Activities are more teacher-led. However, we don’t forget about the benefits of play-based learning, so our timetable includes a mix of indoor and outdoor learning experiences to complement the teaching that is taking place. We develop their understanding of the world by taking their learning from the classroom and out to nature through Forest School sessions on our Meadow.
