Spirited Arts Day
On Wednesday we explored the question 'Where is God?'
The children shared their thoughts during an incredibly interesting class discussion, where many mentioned God being in heaven. When asked how they could represent this idea through art, the children began to share their own ideas regarding what heaven would look like to them. With access to a variety of resources and materials, beautiful artworks were created throughout the day, with many choosing watercolours to represent their thoughts. We also explored the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy and the children made their own pieces of land art, representing their response to 'Where is God?' By the end of the day the children had all agreed, the answer to the question is simply "everywhere."
“God is in Special Land, because there is a rainbow, sea and sky and waves. It makes you feel good because God is there.”
“God is always with us, because when we are playing or discovering he is always with you. I drew God’s face. He is happy.”
"God is in rainbow land, because rainbows are there every day and they mean that it is God’s love.”
“God is in heaven. It has loads of bluebells growing in the clouds.”
“God is all around us. I drew flowers and a tree because it shows Earth.”
“God is in the flowers. He grows all around!”
“God is in the flower. He’s in the middle of it. In the heart.”
