St Matthew's Church - WW1 Memorial Exhibition
On Friday, Amethyst and Garnet visited St Matthew’s Church to see the World War 1 Memorial exhibition. They had a very informative talk about the effect that the war had on the local area, and the children discovered that many soldiers from our parish gave their lives in the war.
They learnt interesting facts and statistics from the informative panels that were on display, and they were even able to research whether any soldiers who had died had lived on their road, or even at their address.
As the last class to visit, Garnet were fortunate enough to be able to adopt a soldier, so that on Remembrance Day they can focus their thoughts and prayers on those men specifically. It was a very informative and enlightening trip for all.
