I much prefer this system of home learning. The fact that there is a choice of activity allows the task to fit around family life/levels of energy etc.
But, importantly, [my child] enjoyed this aspect of choice and was genuinely enthused- which has not always been the case in the past!  The tasks lend themselves to a greater degree of discussion too, which furthered her level of understanding.
She was also able to consolidate her classroom based learning through our discussions.
So, in short, a big thumbs up from us!

I like the home learning grids as you can choose bits which are challenging. Mum and Dad help by choosing places to visit at the weekend to help my home learning too.

The fact that you can choose whichever task you want to do is great and I also like being excited by what else is going to be on the new grid each half term.

It’s good because if you feel like doing maths, you can do it and if you feel more like doing English, you can do that.

In Year 6 we look at things in a lot more depth and I find that really challenges me.

The new grids are really good because you can put loads of creativity into your work. It lets you pick what you want to do.

It’s good because you can be creative with the subject choice and also at the end of the half-term, you get other choices- that’s quite fun!

I like it when you can choose because sometimes you might not feel like doing the ‘set’ homework for your class.

I like having a choice because it’s more comfortable because- as Kate says- we don’t always want to do the same thing.

I prefer having a choice of subject. I am really keen on doing art activities and I can link art to literacy.
