Welcome from the Head Teacher

Believing, Achieving, Succeeding

 Pam Dryden Head Teacher

The Staff, Governors and I are delighted to welcome you to St Matthew’s Church of England Primary School, where we are proud of our distinctive Christian character and our strong links with St Matthew's church and our local community.

I am very proud to be Headteacher at St Matthew's, a friendly, caring and inclusive church school. Our vision of 'enabling our school community to live life in all its fullness'' is at the heart of all we do.

At St Matthew's you will find dedicated staff who work hard to ensure that all children are happy, well-rounded and confident learners. Each child is unique and we cherish their individuality. We welcome families who wish their children to grow spiritually, academically and socially. Whilst encouraging pupils to reach the highest academic standards possible, we consider it equally important that our children develop the attitudes and skills necessary to become healthy and effective citizens.

We work closely with our parents and carers to build relationships that will support children in their learning journey. Parents are encouraged to take an active part in their child’s learning and many of them volunteer as Reading Rangers and assist with trips.

I hope you find our website useful, but please take the time to visit our school where you can meet the children and staff who make this school such an exciting and vibrant place to be.

With best wishes,

Pam Dryden
